Rome is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities on earth. It is not only its historical value that ranks it among the most popular European capitals, but also its Italian charm, excellent cuisine and "La Dolce Vita".

A charming town on the Apennine peninsula, thousands of years ago it was home to one of the greatest civilizations. Nowadays, while walking around the city, you can admire the perfectly preserved remains of Roman civilization, from the magnificent Colosseum to the Pantheon. The greatest attractions of Rome are actually architectural in nature, as you can catch one of the monuments, sacral buildings, palaces or fountains at every turn. But the sights of historical character are not the ones that will really enchant you. The real charm of the city is hidden in the narrow streets, magnificent squares and excellent food, in a way of life that has been depicted in many film classics due to its appeal.

Need another reason to visit Rome? Pleasant weather and good climate. If you want a short escape, during which you would forget about the worries of everyday life and enjoy scoops of ice cream without a guilty conscience, Rome is the right answer.

In recent years, Rome has been at the very top of the most popular European capitals. The most famous area of the city is called Trastevere, which has become the center of nightlife. The small streets, a series of excellent restaurants and pizzerias and bars, attract a lot of socializing tourists. This is precisely why the quarter has established itself as one of the liveliest, as you will never be bored here in the evenings. If you are looking for something less touristy, take a look at Testaccio, a less touristy part of Rome. Here you can sip authentic Italian culture, stroll through the lively market and choose one of the gastronomic tours.

What to try in Rome?

Italian cuisine needs no special introduction. It belongs to the very top of the world, so we will be surprised if you remain hungry while exploring Rome. You can choose from excellent pizzas, pasta dishes and risottos. For dessert, ice cream is a must, the best can be found around the first corner, and among the best are Otaleg and Neve di Latte. Wash down your lunch with a glass of good Tuscan wine, such as Aperol. Rome is a destination for foodies. We recommend visiting the markets, where you can get in touch with the locals and an excellent range of local specialties, and in the evenings, take a walk through the alleys and choose one of the authentic Italian restaurants.

What to see in Rome?

A large part of Rome is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rome is one of the most historically important cities, which is why it is the museum, artistic and cultural center of Italy. One of the most recognizable symbols of Rome is the Trevi Fountain, which has already been depicted in many films. It is believed that you throw a lucky coin into it and it grants you a wish. According to some estimates, EUR 3,000 worth of money is collected in the well per day. Not bad, right?! The fountain measures 26 meters in height and 49 meters in width and is one of the most famous fountains in the world.

The Colosseum, the ancient amphitheater, otherwise the largest preserved in the world, is no less interesting. Its construction began 72 years during the time of Vespasian, and was finished eight years later. You will be charmed by its size, as well as the series of corridors and the interesting spirit that pervades the stone and cement structure. History will also overwhelm you at the Roman Forum, where the largest number of ancient ruins are located. This was once the center of political and public life.

You will also be moved by the Pantheon, one of the most magnificent Roman sights. The huge building was considered the temple of the gods and boasts one of the largest domes in the world. While visiting Rome, it is also worth visiting the Vatican, the smallest country in the world, which is located in the embrace of the Italian capital. The center of the Catholic Church, home to the Pope, offers a number of interesting museums and the Basilica of St. Peter.
