The beginning of June is the time for the third Križnik festival, where fairy tales reign. This time under the title "Jenkret je biv..."
"Jenkret je biv..." is the most frequent beginning of the fairy tales of Gašper Križnik, who worked in Motnik and the surrounding area. That's why he's just Motnik the fairytale location of the annual festival, at which fairy tale fans, big and small, take their turn. Gašper Križnik is one of the most important collectors of Slovenian folk tales from the 19th century, and the purpose of the festival is to revive the cultural heritage that he preserved in his records. Storytellers for children and adults will be on the storytelling stages.
The central event is in Saturday, June 6, when visitors will fairy tale writer Irena Cerar walked around Motnik fairytale paths and met through fairy tales and a creative workshop hidden corners of Križnik's birthplace. The afternoon event will be just as exciting, when we will be able to go along the prize puzzle route and its points, listen to fairy tales, create in workshops, learn to write with the medieval scribe Janez Kamniški, play and have fun.
In the accompanying program, those interested in live storytelling will be able to attend a storytelling workshop and master the technique of live storytelling. The accompanying program also shows local handicrafts.
