Mercedes-Benz is back on the scene with an exceptional model for true automotive connoisseurs. The latest car from their prestigious Mythos series is called the Mercedes-Benz Mythos PureSpeed and is limited to just 250 units worldwide.

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its latest gem, the Mercedes-Benz Mythos PureSpeed, which draws inspiration from the brand's legendary racing cars and Formula 1. Although Mercedes doesn't say so directly, it's obvious that the PureSpeed is based on the SL convertible, as it uses the same front and rear lights.

Front bumper Mercedes-Benz Mythos PureSpeed it ditches the traditional Mercedes grille in favor of an aerodynamic “sharknose” look, and the lower grille is decorated with a white AMG logo. In place of the windscreen is a halo bar structure similar to those of Formula 1. The flying seat bolsters are inspired by the 300 SLR used by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson to win the Mille Miglia in 1955. The color of the vehicle, which changes from red Le Mans in graphite gray is a tribute to Mercedes, which won the Targa Florio in 1924.

The Mercedes-Benz Mythos PureSpeed incorporates many elements developed from the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar. Carbon aerodynamic accessories on the lower part of the vehicle improve aerodynamics, while carbon wheel covers optimize air flow around the wheels and improve brake cooling.

"The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed Concept offers a glimpse into the most direct way to experience performance and driving pleasure," says AMG CEO Michael Schiebe. “Radically open, with no roof or windshield, it separates the passenger from the elements. You can experience light, air and passion unfiltered with all your senses. As a concept for our first Mythos vehicle, it embodies the highest level of exclusivity. Design elements like the HALO also create a Formula 1 feel.”

Mercedes has yet to detail the PureSpeed's powertrain, but it's likely to use the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 from the SL63, either in the base 577-horsepower (431 kW) version or the 805-horsepower (593 kW) E Performance. Either way, this is probably the most exciting SL you can buy right now.

If you manage to get your hands on one of these cars, you will be among the very lucky few. Mercedes is limiting production to just 250 units, which will only be available to "the most dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors," as the brand says. Pricing hasn't been revealed yet, but we suspect select buyers won't have a hard time paying a premium for such an exclusive product.

Mercedes-AMG Mythos PureSpeed it's not just a car; is a real work of art on four wheels, combining past and future, tradition and innovation. Its limited edition, superior performance and exclusivity put it in a special league among sports cars. If you have the chance, get one of these rare examples and enjoy a ride like no other.

PureSpeed offers not only a driving experience, but also an emotional connection to the history and heritage of Mercedes-Benz, all wrapped up in a modern, future-ready package. Whether you're an avid collector or just a fan of high-end cars, the Mythos PureSpeed is something not to be missed.
