Although some movie sequels are dumb, probably none were as dumb as Dumb and Dumber To. This is hinted at by the very original title, which misspells the word two (the correct word is 'two' and not 'to'), but of course it is stupid only in a metaphorical sense, as it has all the ingredients that convinced young and old in the original from 1994.
Although a kind of sequel came to the cinema already in 2003 (Butec and Butec 2: When Harry Met Lloyd), we had to wait 20 years for this one with the original cast. Besides Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels and the engine of the team that curved the first part (brother Bobby and Peter Farrelly). So we have all the pieces of the puzzle for a new excellent situation comedy in front of us, and there is no need to fear that the film will suffer from this 'trailer syndrome', when the epitome betrays all the highlights of the film and ends up being the only really good material. With a proven formula, with Jennifer Lawrence like the icing on the cake, but not at all.
If honey Harry and Lloyd it still 'clicks' like it used to, even though everything still doesn't quite 'click' in their heads, check out the latest trailer.
And I hope you won't say that I'm a little over the top when I predict that the sequel will bring in more than the $127 million that the original made at the box office.
