Most people, in desperation, resort to aggressive degreasers or rough wire sponges, irreparably damaging the delicate Teflon coating. Fortunately, there's a solution that's so simple and effective, you'll wonder why you didn't think of it sooner.
The steam trick that literally melts fat
The secret to a perfectly clean fryer is not in your muscle power, but in the smart use of the heat that the appliance already produces. Instead of soaking the basket in the sink and scrubbing it, use steam bath trick.
Into a dirty air fryer basket pour in as much warm waterto cover the bottom and the mesh (about two to three centimeters high). Add a generous squirt of a good quality dishwashing detergent that dissolves grease well to the water.
Then put the basket back into the appliance, turn it on and set temperature to 180 to 200 degrees Celsius for about three to five minutes.
Hot water and soapy water will create strong steam, which will soften and lift all dried-on grease and burnt-on food residue without damaging the coating.
The power of baking soda for extreme cases
When the program is finished, carefully pull out the basket – Be careful, the water will be extremely hot! Simply pour the dirty water down the drain and rinse the basket under running water.
You will notice that most of the dirt has simply slid away. If your Air Fryer has been really neglected and there are still some stubborn stains left on it, now comes the scene bicarbonate of soda.
Do it thick paste of baking soda and a few drops of water, apply it to problem areas and leave it on to work for ten minutesThe baking soda will act as an extremely gentle, natural scrub that will remove the last traces of dirt, and then just wipe it all off with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth.

What you should never do when cleaning
To make sure your air fryer lasts as long as possible, there are a few golden rules to remember: rules. Never, but really never, never use metal utensils, knives or wire brushes to scratch food residue. Once you damage the non-stick coating, food will start to burn continuously, making the air fryer useless and even harmful to your health.
Also, don't forget the heater, which is hidden on the top inside of the appliance. Once the air fryer has completely cooled down and is unplugged, Wipe the heater gently. with a damp cloth, as drops of grease accumulate there too, which cause an unpleasant odor the next time you use it.
