The new Škoda Enyaq iV: the first electric SUV "internationalized" by Škoda

The Škoda brand is well-known in Slovenian rational hearts. In a way, it is closer to us Slovenians than its "sister" Volkswagen. In a way, it is more ours. This is also why the family-oriented EV, the Škoda Enyaq iV, which is the ID.4's sister model, is all the more anticipated. Let's see!

Campaign and irritation Damages with the first electrified SUV, the Enyaq iV, it took forever. From the moment Škoda presented the concept "Skoda Vision iV”, we hardly expected the latter.

It is basically family oriented electric SUV, which is basically a sister model of the upcoming one Volkswagen ID.4. and at the same time the brand's first model Too bad, which is driving on the MEB platform, intended exclusively for zero-emission vehicles. At the same time, Škoda's second electric model is extremely successful Citigo-e iV. The latter went like honey in Slovenia, because it was hers the price extremely favorable.

A light line that stretches across the entire front

Design inside and out, in principle, it does not surprise. Škoda is a model Enyaq has shown several times in the past weeks. However, the main design detail that we did not expect remained hidden. It is an illuminated bonnet mask. The latter will be standard on the high-performance version of the RS and the limited “Founders Edition”. As a special feature, we should mention that it has 130 LEDs and is designed according to the concept Vision IV from the year 2019, which predicted the shape of the production model quite well.

The rear of the vehicle is extremely compliant!

Speaking of the sports model Enyaq RS iV, the latter will actually be the most powerful production Škoda ever, thanks to twin electric motors that will push the total power to 302 horsepower or 225 kilowatts and 460 newton meters current torque. From 0 km/h to 100 km/h, the Enyaq will thus accelerate to 6.2 seconds and reached terminal velocity 180 km/h.

The Škoda Enyaq will be available with either rear or four-wheel drive. The "chassis" hides the option of choosing three battery sizes (55 kWh, 62 kWh, 82 kWh) and five electric motor output powers (146 HP, 177 HP, 201 HP, 261 HP, 302 HP). Range depends on battery pack and whether it's a RWD or AWD model, but even the base model can travel 340 kilometers on a single charge. If you want a longer range, the single-engine Enyaq iV with rear-wheel drive and with 82-kWh battery pack was able to 510 km according to the standard WLTP.

Too bad has prepared an extremely interesting package with a huge number of options. It is joined by the truly elegant and timeless shape of a sports utility vehicle, which offers an extremely low drag coefficient 0,27. The car also has the option of an AC heat pump, which reduces the amount of energy consumed by the battery and thus improves range.

When you run out of electricity, you can charge the largest of the three batteries with 5 to 80 percent in only 38 minutes, all thanks to fast charging capabilities up to 125 kW. Using an AC wall box up to 11 kW will be able to charge the battery in six to eight hours. It all depends on the size of the battery, of course.

Interestingly, the entry-level model comes with 18-inch steel rims, which is nowadays in to the SUV segment practically unheard of. All other versions of Enyaq iV have aluminum rims sizes up to 21 inches and in various designs and colors. The fashion “Founders Edition” will be limited to just 1,895 units and will be a tribute 125th anniversary establishment of a company Too bad.
