The third generation Skoda Fabia offers a more dynamic exterior, Euro6 engines and a six-year warranty, and last but not least, more content and advanced technology in the form of radar cruise control. Prices start at 10,782, and the combi version will hit showrooms in the spring and will require an additional payment of 660 euros.
New damage Fabio passers-by quickly recognize it, as the larger Škoda models in the range can be recognized, especially in the front part, and at the same time it has not deviated excessively from its predecessor in terms of design, which brings even greater recognition to the table. Despite the similar dimensions, it brings a more spacious passenger cabin, which is also more varied and colorful. The latter was one of the main guidelines of the designers, because the new Škoda is next to it 15 body colors, also offers four contrasting color motifs and four interior colors. With the third generation, Škoda, or rather VW, have even more daring plans, which is eloquently evidenced by the additional features that the Fabia has for the first time: radar cruise control, LED daytime running lights and mirror link and smart gate systems.
More "inflated" and spacious than its sister pole
It's design fabia of the third generation recognizable and at the same time modern, but it also kept the dimensions under four meters in length, which makes it very close to its sister VW Polo, which it surpasses due to the greater body inflation in terms of spaciousness both in both rows of seats and in the trunk, which can accommodate above-average 330 to 1,150 liters of luggage. The trunk also has many hooks, two-level shelf, which you can easily put away when you don't need it and the double bottom of the trunk.
In the passenger cabin fabia expresses with advantage Škoda's mission, and parallels can be found at rapido and also octavia, which means a distinctively designed driver's workspace and center console, hard materials and above-average ergonomics. The greatest progress was made by the designers in the area of less color monotony, which plagued the predecessor. It is basically the same on the dashboard and the entire center console more aluminum inserts and piano black details, which already successfully breaks up the previously mentioned monotony, and in addition, Škoda now offers quite a few five interior color shades: in addition to classic black and gray, also much more colorful: red, blue and beige. At the same time, quite a few derivatives of upholstery, types of seats and (color) combinations of both are also available, with which the Fabia has really stepped into more fashionable waters.
The color motif continues on the exterior as well, where they are next to each other 15 body colors, there are also many upgrades available in the form of color combinations of rims, roof and side mirrors, the concepts of which are condensed into three sets: white, gray, red and black, which means an even greater number of color combinations.
Four petrol engines and two diesels
When it comes to the engine range, petrol engines are preferred, which are expected to account for the majority of sales, and customers have a choice here four aggregates sizes: one, respectively 1.2-liter and with a power range from 44 to 81 kW and the option of a five- or six-speed manual transmission and seven-speed DSG automatic. On the diesel side, the price is expectedly lower, and there are two options to choose from two versions 1.4-liter TDI with 66 and 77 kilowatts respectively powers. There are only two gearboxes, a five-speed manual and the previously mentioned DSG automatic, and all the engines in the range already fit Euro6 standards regarding exhaust cleanliness.
Three equipment packages and, for the first time, radar cruise control
There are three equipment packages: active, ambition and style, but the buyer already gets ESC, manual air conditioning, split rear bench, tire pressure control system, start&stop system, six airbags and an audio device with USB and AUX connections. At the same time, the Ambition is richer for alloy wheels, a "maxi dot" trip computer, hill start assistance, front fog lights, a mini leather package and a three-spoke steering wheel with buttons and bluetooth. The Style also gets LED daytime running lights, rear parking aids, automatic climate control - climatronic, "keyless go" function, front armrest, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain sensor and cruise control.
Prices start at 10,782 euros on the petrol side and 16,293 euros on the diesel side, compared to the outgoing model, this means an increase of 800 to 1,000 euros, but almost entirely at the expense of the previously mentioned Euro6 engines, the standard six-year warranty, the ESC system and some additional accessories. Fabia combi takes to the roads in the spring, price markup compared to the hatchback version, it will amount to 660 euros.
