The new Volkswagen Tiguan represents the logical continuation of the extremely successful story that Volkswagen started just over 8 years ago, when it entered the "city" SUV segment with its Tiguan and thus co-created the foundations of a segment that has been growing practically without limits in recent years and represents almost a quarter of all cars sold in Slovenia. The fathers of the family have found a new hobby, because they want to bathe the family carriage in the mud every now and then to release some of the brakes. And the new Tiguan generation will help them in this.

Volkswagen Tiguan we immediately liked the new generation. It is much more masculine and mature than its predecessor. Credit also goes to a few centimeters in length, some in width and some less in height. These slightly changed proportions, a visually wider front part, a slightly higher side line and slightly smaller side glass surfaces indicate that it is a completely new generation, where from the old Tiguan with the exception of the basic idea, not much is left.

The car is thus 6 centimeters longer and gains a significant 8 centimeters inside. They are known mainly for their spaciousness on the back bench, where there is really a lot of space. Despite the fact that the car has lost 3.3 centimeters of height, there is enough space for the heads of slightly taller people on the back seat. In the back of the new one Tiguan no longer a small off-road trunk reigns supreme, but as much as 520 basic liters, which family fathers can increase by a few liters by moving the rear bench longitudinally, thus getting more usable space for all family adventures (read: vacations).

Tiguan like the whole, it summarizes the latest design guidelines of its concern brothers, which is a good thing, because despite the same in-house recipe, practically all Volkswagens are very interesting cars with their still fairly popular character (read: universal likability). It certainly is Tiguan sufficiently different from the class average to stand out with the feelings it evokes in the observer and the proverbial quality of the whole.

Volkswagen says the Tiguan appeals to women; he appeals to you with his masculinity. And, in all likelihood, also due to the fact that women are a bit more difficult to lure into showrooms, they represent the virtual (virtual) shopping experience of SeeMore. It is a kind of virtual shopping center that the Volkswagen brand is introducing with the Tiguan model.


Thus, future buyers, especially women, will be able to choose their new Tiguan v with the help of virtual glasses virtual reality. It can be used as a family car, a company car..., because with its appearance it works just right and at the same time adventurous, without limiting itself. Volkswagen plans to sell almost 1000 Tiguans, which is an optimistic prediction, supported by the growth of the segment (a-SUV), in which all brands are expected to sell almost 6,000 vehicles this year.

On road and off-road with distinction

After the first kilometers, we can say with certainty that the new Tiguan drives perfectly. The position on the road is neutral for a long time, the suspension is just right, so as not to spoil comfort at the same time. The whole picture works at times extremely well-coordinated and just the right amount of boring, so that average drivers will be impressed by the driving characteristics. Those who are more demanding, we believe, will not look for a hair in the egg.

It stands out with the level of technologies

The new Tiguan will not be cheap, as you will have to shell out 23,982 euros for the worst-equipped model with a 1.4-liter TSI engine and two-wheel drive. For the most desirable, at least in the eyes of Slovenian buyers, which has 4Motion four-wheel drive and Comfortline equipment, 32,794 euros. But you have to take into account that the new Tiguan comes with a bunch of standard assistance systems, for which other manufacturers always have to pay extra. To a certain extent, this justifies the first feeling that the car is fundamentally more expensive. It should be taken into account that even the basic package version of the Trendline comes with a lot of extras, such as cruise control, lane assist, city AEB, bluetooth, tinted mirror, parking sensors, cross traffic... In the Comfortline (middle equipment), radar cruise control, an 8-inch entertainment system screen and more are also available as standard. So a lot of fun and safety electronics for relatively little or no money. With the rich standard equipment, we can slowly forget the times when the "Germans" had to pay extra for every little thing in the car. Those times are definitely over.

Sports, road or off-road?

New Tiguan you will basically be able to choose in more off-road version and replaced the urban one with one that allows more fun in the mud. This version is a centimeter higher than the classic, and they are redesigned bumpers vehicles that allow as much as a 25.6-degree entry angle and a 24.7-degree exit angle. There will also be an R-line equipment package available, which will extract elements of an athlete's sportiness from the cultivated Tiguan.

Purchase decision

The package that Volkswagen has prepared with the new Tiguan is extremely attractive, and when you write down the pluses for a purchase decision on a piece of paper, the fact that off-road vehicles lose value more slowly over time will also help you. The first generation, which is already 8 years old, still achieves enviable values on the market, and when we compare them with the brothers of the Volkswagen group, we see that the Tiguan loses significantly less and therefore allows for more rationality when buying. A fact that is all too often overlooked when making a purchase decision. Due to the basic equipment, which is at an enviable level, future buyers will have to tick off a lot of additional equipment on their shopping list, as this is almost completely included in the basic offer.
