The Nio ES8, an electric SUV, has made its debut in China, along with a new battery swap system. The Chinese company provides owners of the ES8 electric car with high-quality insurance, assistance in the event of a breakdown, connectivity, a branched network of charging stations throughout the country, and even battery exchange according to the empty-full system.
Nio ES8 it has one engine mounted in the rear and one in the front. 480 kilowatts of power and 840 Nm of torque transfer to all four wheels and allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The ES8 has a capacity battery installed 70 kWh, which is water cooled and consisting of square VDA batteries that allow approx 2000 charging cycles. The electric Nio can travel on a single charge up to 500 kilometers at a speed of 60 km/h. The distance per NEDc cycle is 355 kilometers.
The Nio ES8 is equipped with an advanced driving assistant No Pilot, which uses 23 different sensors, an advanced front camera, 4 cameras on each side of the car, 5 millimeter radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a central screen where we can monitor all the cameras. A new battery exchange system allows the ES8 to replace all batteries in just one three minutes. If we connect the car to an electric charging station for 10 minutes, we will charge it for 100 kilometers of further driving. Chinese manufacturer Nio plans to build more than 1,100 battery exchange stations and sell more than 1200 cars until 2020.
