Interestingly, Nissan has been leading the sale of electric vehicles for a long time, despite the fact that it has only one functional electric vehicle on the market - the Nissan Leaf. That changed today with the introduction of an extremely interesting mid-size SUV model that promises a range of up to 482 km and goes by the name Nissan Ariya.
Nissan the strategy is that in the next twenty months present what 10 new models. And that is also why the Ariya can be the prediction of the extraordinary fresh wind of this car brand. Namely, Ariya is just like her concept that was presented in 2019 at the car show in Tokyo. And that excites us, because the car is brave and extremely futuristic.
The avant-garde appearance of the Nissan Ariya represents a significant departure from the company's otherwise somewhat outdated design language. With concepts, however, this departure has been visible since 2017, when they presented the IMxom concept. The DNA of the design is so very interesting and we can easily imagine the model range in a few years.
Nissan plans to sell the zero-emissions SUV with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The 2WD version will offer 215 horsepower (160 kilowatts) and 300 Nm of torque, while the AWD version will spit out generous 389 horsepower respectively 600 Nm.
Ariya equipped with 2WD will take around seven and a half seconds to do the 0-100km/h sprint, but that will finish at the top-limited 159km/h. Faster Ariya will be the way to go 100 km/h done in le 5.1 seconds, with an upper limit of reaching the maximum speed of 200 km/h.
Based on an estimate made by Nissan, the range is estimated at approx 482 kilometers. Otherwise, Ariya will be able to be equipped with energy storage capacities of 90 kWh and 65 kWh respectively.
Ariya is supposed to be on Japanese roads launched in mid-2021 with the key market of North America with an entry price of approx 40,000 euros. Electric SUV in all probability v Slovenia we won't see it until 2022.
