When are the Oscars 2021, who is nominated and what will the first golden statuette award be like during the pandemic?

Oscars 2021 they are at the door! To be precise, the prestigious golden statuettes, the most numerous award in the film world, will be awarded April 25, 2021 (according to our time, it will be on April 26 between 2 and 5 in the morning).

This year's Oscars will be the first Oscars during the pandemic and the organizers have decided to abandon the painful awkwardness of the Zoom ceremony, such as we could witness at this year's Golden Globes, and the awards taking preventive measures into account given in person.

Who is hosting the Oscars 2021?

Nobody! As Deadline reported in March, this ceremony will continue the recent tradition of having no host, which is probably for the best. Instead, they will focus on the many headliners who will lead us through the night.

Who will present the Oscars?

This year, there will be a host of exciting names on stage, including Angela Bassett, Laura Dern, Halle Berry, Bong Joon Ho (whose film Parasite won the Oscar for Best Picture last year), Harrison Ford, Regina King, Marlee Matlin, Rita Moreno, Joaquin Phoenix, Brad Pitt , Reese Witherspoon, Renée Zellweger, Don Cheadle, Bryan Cranston and Zendaya.

What will the Oscars look like?

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences saw how awkward the Golden Globes were and decided they didn't want it. So they sent a letter to the nominees that read:: "We would like to inform those who cannot attend the awards ceremony due to schedules or other inconveniences that viewing via Zoom will not be possible", and the dress code was described as "a fusion of inspirational and aspirational, which really means that formally it's totally cool, but casually it's not." The nominees living in Europe did not agree with this, of course, so the Academy said yes in Europe prepare event spaces so that those who do not live in the US can accept their awards in person.

Where will the 2021 Oscars be held?

Performances at the award ceremony will be filmed in the theater The Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars have been held since 2002. But the main ceremony will at the Union Station train station. This might seem like a bit of an odd choice, but the station is huge and hosts various events multiple times, so it's not as strange as it sounds. With the combination of multiple venues (The Dolby Theatre, Union Station and European venues), it will be interesting to see how it all actually plays out.
