Fotopub 2015: Novomeški photography festival

Photopub

The Fotopub photography festival in Novomeje, with its fundamental premises, such as the presentation of Slovenian and foreign photographers of the younger generation, the placement of contemporary Slovenian photography on the national and global map, and the active involvement of the professional and lay public, represents a more than necessary platform for connecting and constructive dialogue between young people, established creators and their older colleagues.

A one-week photography festival Photopub this year, from August 3rd to August 8th, to be precise, will host six group exhibitions of twenty-three established domestic and foreign artists from Slovenia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Switzerland, Germany, Croatia, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Israel, Great Britain and Latvia. The program of the festival will also include a new photography book fair, a music program that will present contemporary, still valid trends in music and a "portfolio review" that will bring to Novo mesto ten important actors (artists, curators, editors and gallerists) in the field of global contemporary photographic art scene.

Last year, the organization of Fotopub was taken over by Dušan Josip Smodej and Jure Kastelic, who invited six young artists from various art academies across Europe to participate: Bojan Mijatovuć, Daret Sintič, Miha Erjavec, Aljaž Celarc, Klemen Ilovar and Tadej Vindiš. Last year's excellent team is joined this year by Živa Kleindienst, Gregor Kocijančič, Reinis Lismanis and Paulo Wirz.
