Polestar 3: an electric SUV with a long range and extremely fast charging

Polestar 3 is the first Polstar SUV that will go head-to-head with Tesla and BMW on the electric "playground".

Polestar 3 is a nice electric SUV that shares many design features with the previous Polestar 1 and Polestar 2 models. Similarities can be found both at the front and at the back, but the front fascia has now become extremely "smart". In fact, it hides a bunch of advanced radars and other modern technology, and the modified headlights reflect a new light signature.

Beneath the seductive exterior of the Polestar 3 lies 400-volt electrical architecture consisting of a battery with capacity 111 kWh (107 kWh net) and two electric motors. There is enough energy for up to 480 kilometers a long way, due to fast charging with up to 250 kW, and the battery will be from 10 to 80 %, filled in le 30 minutes. It is the fastest charging in the class, and in addition to speed, the Polestar 3 also offers two-way charging and a serial mechanical heat pump, which ensures the optimal temperature of the battery and, consequently, greater efficiency and the achievement of a longer distance traveled.

Polestar 3 has available 360 kW power (490 horsepower) and 620 newton meters of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h accelerate into 4.9 seconds. With an additional payment of approx 6,000 euros a so-called Performance package is available, which offers 380 kW power (517 horsepower) and 910 newton meters of torque. Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is reduced to in this case 4.5 seconds. Thanks to the sports package, the range of the car is reduced to approx 430 kilometers.

The interior of the electric Polestar 3 is decorated 14.5-inch display on the center console, which is supported by the latest Polestar Android Automotive operating system. Only this includes standard built-in Google maps, the Google voice assistant, system updates via the Internet and standard installation of the Apple CarPlay wireless function. Also standard are the Plus and Pilot packages, which bring a sound system with 25 Bowers & Wilkins speakers, heated steering wheel, 22-inch rims and ʺsoft-closeʺ door closing. The assistance systems are also at an extremely high level in this case. The Polestar 3 will be available in the second half of 2023 and will cost around 90,000 euros.
