Recipe: chocotorta (Argentine chocolate cake)

Before you is the recipe for the best dessert on the planet - Argentinian chocolate cake. This cake is no-bake and is inspired by the Italian tiramisu.

In Argentina, no celebration goes by without a chocolate cake on the table. It is made from three basic ingredients: chocolate biscuit, cream cheese and caramel sauce (dulce de leche).

Tastes Atlas declared the Argentinian chocolate cake the best cake in the world in 2020.

Chocotorta (Argentinean chocolate cake)

Ingredients

  • 500 g of chocolate biscuits
  • 675 g of cream cheese
  • 675 g dulce de leche – caramel spread
  • coffee or milk
  • chocolate

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix dulce de leche - caramel spread with cream cheese and beat.
  2. Dip the biscuits in coffee or milk. And spread them on a 20×20 cm baking tray.
  3. You spread the cream cheese frosting, then spread the cookies again and so on until you have 5 layers.
  4. The last layer should be the biscuits, leaving some of the filling for decoration. Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight.
  5. Take the cake out of the pan, then spread the filling and decorate with grated chocolate.
