The new Renault Mégane Conquest is undoubtedly looking for inspiration in the German competition of premium-class "coupe" SUVs, which have impressed us with their dynamic design and new segmental niche in the last decade. A niche that has become so big that it even smells of "mass" brands such as Renault! Why not!
Renault has announced the imminent arrival of a very interesting model called the Mégane Conquest, which should premiere in the first half of 2021. This sporty Renault SUV coupe with athletic lines and a dynamic character comes to the European market equipped with advanced technology powered by a hybrid E-TECH and also the "RS" version of the model line, which will give this dynamic SUV that real finishing touch.
The new Mégane Conquest will be built on the CMF-B compact car platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, which is also used for the new Clio and Captur, but will be specially refined and adapted for the European market.
It is basically a five-door SUV coupe, long 4.56 m and tall 1.57 m, and its wheelbase should be 2.72 m. This is the first unofficial information. The spacious passenger and luggage space confirms that the Renault Mégane Conquest is also intended for families.
The new Renault Mégane Conquest is powered by new hybrid engines. Namely the E-TECH Hybrid with 140 HP and 1.3-liter TCe 140 and TCe 160 with a 12-volt micro-hybrid drive. Already powering the Clio, Captur and Mégane, the E-TECH hybrid technology is a Renault innovation based on experience gained from electric vehicles and Formula 1 cars, and during the development of the technology more than 150 patents.
We expect the car, which Renault markets outside the Adria region as the Arkano, to hit the roads in the second half of 2021.
