Road electric scooters are a part of urban centers and boldly whiz along bike paths and elsewhere. This time Segway presents one of the fastest in the world, which somehow will not be legal on European soil.

Segway presents the SuperScooter GT, which can reach 70 km/h in the GT2 version. The base model GT1 uses a 14000 watt rear hub motor, giving it a top speed of 60 km/h and is powered by a 1kWh battery mounted under the chassis deck. The range is stated at 70 kilometers, but it will somehow depend on the driver's temperament. Both GT scooter models use an aircraft aluminum frame, suspension with 15 levels of adjustment and hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, which definitely marks models aimed at adventure types rather than everyday normal users. The GT2 uses a 15000 watt hub motor and a 1.5 kWh battery, along with a dynamic power control system and the aforementioned increased performance. Also to ensure safety.

The scooter itself is not light as it weighs around 50 kg. From 0 to 70 KM/h, the GT2 model will accelerate in less than 4 seconds! The price will be around 2,500 dollars in the North American market.

Given the legislative restrictions, it cannot be expected on European soil. However, it is certainly interesting what such means of transport can do.
