Silent-Yachts has launched a new, eco-friendly catamaran, the Silent 60, which is powered by solar energy and whales.

Silent-Yachts Silent 60 is the latest catamaran equipped with solar panels and a kite. 42 solar panels provide 17 kWp, and this energy then drives two electric motors, which each have a 200 kW powers. 18 meters the catamaran has a capacity battery 286 kWh, which allows a daily sailing range of up to 100 nautical miles. In the front part of the catamaran we find a place where the lines and the electric winch are stored.

The first step for sailing with a kite is to fill the kite with air, the second is to lower it into the water, and the last step is to tighten the ropes that connect the kite to the catamaran. The process lifts the kite into the air and when it reaches the appropriate height, it starts to perform turns in the air in the form of the number 8. This provides enough energy to sail the catamaran. When we want to put the kite away, the system does it automatically put it in a position when the ropes are least loaded, I pull it from the tampa to the catamaran with the help of a winch.

Silent 60 has available 4 bedrooms for guests and a larger bedroom for the ``master'', and the layout of the rooms can be changed upon request. The catamaran offers plenty of areas for socializing, and in the main saloon we have 2.3 meters the high ceiling is quite enough headroom. Due to the extremely low draft of less than 1 meter, the Silent 60 is extremely suitable for exploring the Caribbean islands and the islands of Southeast Asia. If desired, we can install it on the catamaran two jet skis or until 4 meters a long boat.

Silent 60 can boast of thermally the pump, which will make the time spent on the catamaran, regardless of the season, always pleasant. The thermally insulated body helps to reduce the consumption of electricity. The Silent 60 lets you cruise at speed 6-8 knots, and if necessary, it can also move at speed 20 knots. The cow also has a solar-electric system for providing fresh drinking water, which will ensure that guests will not be thirsty.
