Forests cover a large part of our country, Slovenia has a lot of knowledge in the field of wood, but lacks awareness of the market potential that wood offers. Since wood is the (ignored) wealth of Slovenia, from June 20 to 22, the first thematic startup weekend on the subject of wood will take place at the Faculty of Biotechnology in Ljubljana.

At the startup weekend, students will have the opportunity to:
- get to know better wood industry opportunities, as they will be in company entrepreneurs/businessmen/academics, who deal with wood,
- present your business idea and collect motivated team or simply join the team whose idea will be closest to them,
- 3 days to develop the initial idea under mentoring by experienced business mentors,
- to acquire invaluable experience on the development of business ideas,
- present the project expert committee, which will evaluate potential ideas.
The field of study is not important, what is important is that students have ambition and will, and are ready to check in one weekend what all can be learned and created in such a short time.
