The third day of the Ljubljana Fashion Week started in a youthful, playful and, above all, creative spirit. Students of textile and clothing design from the Faculty of Design, an affiliated member of the University of Primorska, presented their creations. In the 2nd semester of the academic year 2016/2017, first and second year students researched the works of the famous architect Jože Plečnik and transformed them into newly created forms of clothing in a modern way on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of his birth and the 60th anniversary of his death. The third-year students presented themselves with independent collections that carry distinctly personal stories of young talents.
The second day of the Ljubljana Fashion Week is already behind us, which takes place under the city, but that does not mean that it is not in the center of attention, as fashion enthusiasts diligently follow the events. The catwalk came to life with collections prepared by local and foreign, young and established designers. There was a bit of romance in the air, a bit of French chic, it was occupied by modern and fashion-conscious warriors, versatile pieces of clothing and also collections with a touch of Gothic influence. A whole range of styles and colors! Some of the most famous Slovenian models are walking along the catwalk, which winds through the parking spaces of the newly opened part of the garage house Kozolec.
The Ljubljana underground was very lively on a rainy autumn evening. In the newly opened part of the Kozolec garage house in fact, the largest fashion event in our country, LJFW, has begun. The urban environment of the first floor of the parking lot The house impressed with its simplicity and unobtrusiveness, and the attention of the visitors was so easily focused only on to the catwalk.
This time, LJFW 2017 is moving underground, but only in terms of location, because among other things, the essence of this biggest fashion event in our country is still to bring fashion to the city streets and present it to people by the shortest possible route. Designer fashion shows, which include both established and fresh domestic and foreign names, will take place between November 6 and 9, 2017, in the new part of the Kozolec garage house.
The long-awaited opening of LJFW Spring/Summer 2017 took place on March 29. As every year, the main program is complemented by an excellent range of events, which include much more than just fashion shows by Slovenian designers.
The varied central and additional events at Ljubljana Fashion Week 2017, which this year will be held at the Ljubljana Castle, will serve up fresh Slovenian design names, international collaborations, fashion shows and interesting parallel events to all who are interested. The event as part of LJFW 2017 will be opened on March 29 by the presentation of Slovenian representatives of the Fashion Scout See (Southeast Europe Fashion Showcase, which addresses the designers of the entire region) in the right atrium of the City Hall.
