Especially on the Asian side of the world, various artists from all over the world gather every year for snow festivals, where they create incredible sculptures from ice and snow. But not the Bartz brothers from New Brighton, Minnesota (USA), who have chosen the yard in front of their house to display their masterpieces for the fourth year in a row. This year they carved a 3 and a half meter turtle.

Also in 2017, the traditional Castles of King Matjaž event will take place in Mitnek pod Peco (Črna na Carinthia) for the 25th time. Since 1993, the teams have already built around 1,300 castles or interesting sculptures, which are built by those who also come from other countries. Snow castles in honor of King Matjaž will be built between January 27 and 29, 2017. If you want to compete, you can already register your team.
A frozen or snowy car can cause quite a few headaches. Frozen windows, frozen lock, frozen door. Cold, snow and ice are an inconvenience for the car, but sometimes they make sure that they create the right works of art on it. Yes, some cars can be real artistic souls.
Some choose clay, others stone, others metal, the fourth wax, the fifth wood, and during the white winters, snow is offered as the most suitable material for creating sculptures. It may not be as durable as others, but creating with it is a unique and therapeutic experience. Some build castles under Peka, others snow sculptures in Harbin, still others place their sculptures right in the yard, in the park, on the lawn, on the street...

Snow castles will be built in Črna na Koroškem for the 26th year in a row. The 26th King Matjaž Castles 2018 will take place between January 26 and 28, 2018.
