Rolex, the Swiss watchmaking icon, is expanding its relatively new 1908 Perpetual line with the release of a luxurious platinum version. While other watch brands present novelties and highly anticipated reissues at the Watches and Wonders event in Geneva, Rolex stays true to its tradition with minimal but attractive changes to its existing range.
The first versions of the 1908 Perpetual were made in white and yellow gold, and the new platinum version brings freshness to the line. With a case diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of 9.5 mm, the new model retains the characteristic fixed bezel with ribbed edges. The difference is in the dial, which now combines platinum color with light blue and a 'rice grain' pattern. On the lower part of the dial there is a small seconds counter with a brushed pattern, and the characteristic opening on the hour hand is also noticeable.
The new platinum version of the 1908 Perpetual is already available from Rolex as part of their permanent collection, priced at $30,900. For more information, visit the brand's website. This luxurious timepiece is not only a measure of time, but also an expression of superior taste and prestige, committed to the tradition and innovation typical of Rolex.
