Once a small company OnePlus, whose phones were initially necessary to buy and take a bit more detours, quickly grew into one of the most famous names in the mobile industry. The latter showed that smartphones with the best components can be sold even at very affordable prices. Over the years, OnePlus has set itself a specific goal. Their phones always have to be the fastest and keep up with the competition, if not ahead of them. This led them to the telephones OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, which most consider to be the first truly flagship smartphone, which can stand alongside the largest.

Why really the first? Mainly because, despite presenting certain technologies ahead of the competition (for example, fast screen refresh), OnePlus has always "saved" on something else. Let's say with the implementation of wireless charging, water resistance, with a not very impressive camera, ... Well, that's the end of today, because it will eighth generation ticked all things, which she has released so far.

OnePlus 8 Pro will truly be the pinnacle of what we can cram into a smartphone these days: a processor Snapdragon 865 with network support 5G, 8 GB respectively 12 GB of working memory LPDDR5 speeds, faster wireless internet Wi-Fi 6, battery capacity 4510 mAh, the water resistance standard IP68 and fast wireless charging up to 30 W with the help of technology Warp Charge 30 Wireless.

At the presentation, it was possible to hear a lot of praise for the new screen, which is said to even surpass the competition. The 8 Pro version will have OLED display with QHD+ resolution, which (at unchanged resolution) will refresh with frequency 120 Hz. At brightness 1300 nits will be extremely bright even under direct sunlight, and will provide impressive color accuracy 10-bit panel (displaying more than a billion different color shades).

OnePlus unabashedly compared the 8 Pro's new cameras to those of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. According to them, the trio of cameras should exceed the performance of the Apple device, at least as far as it goes dynamic range of the video and night photos. The OnePlus 8 Pro will have resolution main camera 48MP, which will be equipped with larger sensor (the latter is becoming a new trend), ultra wide resolution camera of the same resolution and 8 MP telephoto camera and 3x optical zoom.

"Basic" model OnePlus 8 will of course be more "compact", so it will lost quite a few things, which make the 8 Pro so attractive. Say wireless charging, water resistance and a 10-bit display. The refresh of the latter will also be reduced to 90 Hz. There are also some changes to the cameras it will be on the main ones remained the same 48 MP resolution, but it will lag behind the 8 Pro model in terms of photo quality. Ultra-wide camera will have resolution "only" 12MP, and the telephoto camera will be replaced 2 MP macro camera (which is significantly insufficient for macro photography).

OnePlus has finally introduced a smartphone that can honestly shuffle the cards in the mobile market. A case of extremely fast phone, full latest components, which aims to satisfy different users at the same time, from photographers, video content viewers and mobile gamers. The OnePlus 8 model is not as attractive as its bigger brother, but for the price 699 euros it also offers a hell of a lot more than many of the competition. Even the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a price 899 euros a very tempting choice, especially since its competitors cost a couple of hundred more.

Our opinion
An excellent phone with a great screen, which remains significantly cheaper than the "competitors". Maybe its Achilles heel is the camera, which is good - but not the best.
