This summer's trend is home-made swimming pools

You won't have to worry about built-in or inflatable pools this year. The trend is home-made swimming pools, affectionately called "hillybilly tubs". What they look like and what we need to pay attention to, below.

Summer is here! Time to dust off the grill, sit in the garden and enjoy the company of good friends. What's missing? Swimming pool, of course. And one bad swimsuit. This year, you won't have to worry too much about the first one, swoon over it pool installation costs or getting angry because the inflatable pool won't want to stand up like it should. They are the trend of this summer homemade pools, lovingly named just 'hillybilly massage tub'.

It is about tanks (these are otherwise used for feeding animals), which we place in the yard and fill with water. How we decorate them or what the surroundings will be is up to us. At Good Housekeeping recommend that the pool be maintained as otherwise: this means we have pump, we use chlorine and regularly test the water quality. This is the only way we can ensure that our yard will be an oasis without bugs and bacteria.
