Thermal Lake Hévíz: a Hungarian thermal gem that you must visit at least once!

It is located in the town of the same name, and its name literally means "thermal water". The source 4.4 hectares of a large lake rich in sulphur, is 38 meters underground, in a deep cave. It is said to have been created already in antiquity, at the time when Blatno jezero and the basalt mountains around the lake were also created. And even then, people should have known medicinal properties of this spring, which is still attributed with this kind of power! Many diseases are supposed to be cured here, if you dive into the water, you will smeared with mud or drank thermal water from one of the free fountains around town. The gentle touch of water, the feeling of floating, lotus flowers, the smell of healing water, the green leafy crowns of the surrounding trees - all this is said to have a calming effect on our nervous system and psyche.

Lake Heviz has a temperature in summer from 33 to 36 degrees Celsius, and in winter from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, which means that you can swim among the water lilies even in winter. Next to the lake is also complex with a thermal pool, baths and mud baths, with an underwater bath, etc., where various therapies are performed, and with a wide range diagnostic units (laboratory, X-ray, ...).

In addition to swimming, you will also find other activities here that will help maintain your physical and mental health. Active sports programs are available, such as Nordic walking, cycling tours, city walks ... You can also decide to take a trip to the palace in Blaten Church (Keszethely), which is one of the largest and most visited in Hungary, go to the observation hill Balatongyörök – Szépkilátó or in Tapolca cave, where you will ride a boat on a beautiful blue underground lake and admire a cave in which there are no stalactites.
