You'll be sorry to eat these cakes: dreamy confections that look like they were made with needle and thread

Leslie Vigil calls herself a cake artist, and you probably couldn't find a better description for her. With its delicious works of art, it could easily be placed in a gallery.

Leslie Vigil is a master confectioner who creates layered masterpieces from desserts, including forest animals, cacti and even crystal formations. Her latest cake collection is called Tapestry, and for her, she learned the art of embroidery and created with the help of embroideries "stitched" flowers that decorate cakes. So it's a tapestry decoration reminiscent of embroidered Mexican dresses, although Leslie cites Russian embroidery and spring flowers as inspiration.

The love for confectionery grows since childhood, from the days when she was creating cakes together with her mother. That's when it became clear to her what beautiful things you can achieve with decoration. So she started studying cookbooks, eventually making it a profession. Among other things, she studied at the prestigious cooking school in Paris, at Le Cordon Bleu, where she completed the baking and pastry program. Today, she shares the knowledge she gained over the years at various workshops.
