Günther actually went viral a few years ago and earned himself a nickname Hipster Grandpa. He attributes his good health to dancing, which he discovered only in his older years. "From then on I can skip the gym, I just need some additional strength training," he said to the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. Contrary to what you might think, he was never a stylist or fashion designer. "I would like that, yes. But I wasn't someone to fight back, I did what my parents told me to do.” Instead, Günther became a chef. "It was difficult for me at first, but it was fine. A perfectly normal job.”

However, the "hipster grandfather" says that he has always been involved in fashion clothes. "In Hannover, where I grew up, we ran around in miniskirts when the miniskirt was just coming into fashion for men. Even with Roman women! But we quickly abandoned that. When I came to Kreuzberg 30 years ago, I mostly dressed in the typical black alternative look – but always with a special personal touch.”
