After 16,500 kilometers traveled, from the factory in Bratislava to the world premiere in Beijing, China, the new Volkswagen Touareg is finally only with us. It will become the best representative of the Volkswagen brand and partially fill the gap left behind by the sedan Phaeton, which has held this title until now.
An intense campaign with provocative photos of the new Volkswagen Touareg and quite a few 'spy' photos let us know that the design will be even more sharp, and the front part completely 'Arteonian'. The Touareg has grown and lost a bit 106 kilograms, and as a result, the interior space and luggage space it now has have increased 810 liters volumes. The Touareg enters the SUV market, which has already developed a lot during this time and represents one of the most competitive classes in the automotive industry. The third generation will stand up to its competitors with luxury and more advanced and latest technology.
The new Touareg was completely made for the digital age, which is particularly noticeable in the interior. As is customary with the Volkswagen concern, the Touareg did not avoid the digital 12-inch driver's instrument panel, and for the needs of the infotainment system, it is now installed in the center console 15 inch touch screen. Since they are placed next to each other, they give the impression of being continuous 27-inch screen. Due to the size of this screen, as a result, some buttons have disappeared and found their place in the form of a digital button on the touch screen. Through the interfaces you can be the car completely adjust to our own wishes and needs, as we customize our smartphone, with all the applications we need. Inside we find prestigious materials, such as chrome, leather, wood, aluminum and glass, which makes the Touareg even more luxurious compared to previous generations.
There is no doubt that the new Volkswagen Touareg will be even more prestigious than its predecessor, as it is based on the MLB Evo platform, on which the two Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q8. Among the technology, the new Touraeg has the latest suspension, advanced matrix LED headlights and four-wheel steering. It's brand new projection screen Head-Up and system with infrared camera, which warns us of people or animals on the road at night. Among the drives, the Touareg will for the first time have the s version plug-in hybrids, which will have 367 horsepower and enabled around 50 kilometers the distance traveled by consumption alone electricity. In Europe, we will witness two more at the start of sales V6 diesel engines with 231 respectively 286 horsepower. In some markets, it will also be available with V6 gasoline and V8 turbo diesel motor.
The new, third generation Volkswagen Touareg will undoubtedly set new milestones among SUVs. Its most important market will be China, where it will be joined by the other, extensive range of Volkswagen SUVs.
