Wallypower58: When space meets the sea - futuristic design and incredible performance

Who would have thought that an Italian yacht builder would create something that looks like it just landed from outer space? Well, if you've ever seen their WallyPower 118 yacht, then you know what I'm talking about. And now that wallypower58 is here, it looks like Wally has once again set the standard for the future. In addition to the regular version, there is also the WallyPower58 X. But more on that at the very end.

Let's start with the exterior of the Wallypower58. And while this might look like something out of a sci-fi movie, it's all very functional. For example, the folding sections add about 5 square meters (54 square feet) of deck space. Shared open deck space? About 30 square meters. On the entire length of the vessel approximately 17 meters.

And then there's the interior. The main attraction at the rear is the approximately 7 square meter sun bed with a canopy stretched over the carbon frame. And if you thought that was all, you're wrong. The interior also offers two long couches, a bathroom on the right and a shower on the left. Forward is a double bedroom facing aft. And while the cabinets and closets look like they're from the 1950s, they're in stark contrast to the ultra-modern vibe everywhere else.

But wait, it's not over yet! Instead of fuselage windows, this model has what Wally calls magic hatches. These are two 55-inch TVs that can transmit real-time images from cameras on the sides of the vessel, or play movies or games.

In terms of propulsion, you have two options: three Volvo Penta D8-550/IPS700 engines or three D8-600/IPS800 engines. Top speeds are between 35 and 38 knots, depending on engine choice. And while it may seem like that's all you need to know about this yacht, you'd be wrong. Wally is always one step ahead of the competition, as evidenced by the fact that their parent company, the Ferretti Group, announced at the launch of wallypower58 that they would soon be one of the first shipyards to offer Watchit anti-collision and grounding systems.

Wallypower58X - the icing on the cake

This beauty is equipped with four Mercury Verado V-12 engines with po 600 horsepower. Yes, you heard that right, four! This means that it can reach speeds that would make even Superman envious, namely as much as 50 knots. And while you'd think owners of a yacht with all that power would have to sacrifice some access to the water aft, it seems they've found a solution with Wally. Folding rigs are a real revolution and proof that it is possible to have it all: speed, style and easy access to the water. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?

Luca Bassani: Man From The Future?

When Wally founder Luca Bassani unveiled his superyacht vision, many believed he had just landed from Mars. Even though it was 20 years ago, his yacht still looks like it just dropped from another galaxy. And then there are his smaller masterpieces like wallypowers, newer wallywhys and versions of wallytenders that revolutionized the yachting world more than 25 years ago. All these yachts bear the same futuristic stamp. And seriously, who would dare argue that wallypower58 doesn't look like he's from 2043? If Bassani starts claiming he has a time machine, we'll believe him!
