Believe it or not, while writing the article, I felt an overwhelming urge to run. Although it was already dark and I felt as if it would start raining at any moment, I put on my running shoes and started exercising. But why did I make that decision?

We always have endless excuses why we don't have time to exercise. We don't have time. We have no fitness. What will others think and on and on. But have you ever thought in a different way and looked for reasons why you should include regular exercise in your life. Have you asked yourself what good you will do with this for your health, your body and well-being?

Did you know that you can still eat that little piece that laughs at you from the fridge without a bad conscience, because you did something useful for yourself before or after that?

It doesn't matter how many meters you run, walk, you'll still get more done than if you just lay down or sit on the couch in front of the TV. You agree?

Let's look at some of the positive effects that exercise will bring you.

1. Fight against diseases

Exercise reduces the risk of many diseases, such as cancer, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes (a healthy diet combined with exercise reduces the risk of type II diabetes by 58%).

2. You will lose some extra kilos

If you are losing weight, it is recommended that you also exercise regularly. If you want to have a slim and healthy body, you should not avoid exercise.

3. You will look more youthful

Exercise not only helps you lose weight and maintain your weight, but also improves your posture and gives your skin a glow. As the heart rate increases, so does blood flow to the skin, giving it glow and color. In addition, some of the water contained in the skin evaporates as the body cools, and the rest is reabsorbed by the skin, giving you a hydrated appearance.

4. Well-being

Research have shown that training improves mood, at least for 3 to 4 hours after exercise. It has also been shown to help fight depression. Many psychologists use physical activity as part of treatment.

5. Reduction of joint pain

Proper exercise can reduce the pain of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis and strengthen the muscles around the affected joints.

6. Reduction of back pain

As many as 80% of the population have problems with back pain. Previously, people with back pain were advised to avoid physical activity. We now know that in most cases the best cure for back pain is exercise. Find exercises that work for you and, of course, consult your doctor or physical therapist.

7. A good night's sleep is one of the reasons

Although exercise gives you energy, it also drains you. Strange as it sounds, you'll feel fresher during the day and sleep better at night. According to the the study those who did up to 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise per week (i.e. 30 minutes, 5 days a week) slept better and felt less tired during the day. Exercise relieves stress and anxiety, and it also helps the body regulate its temperature, so you sleep more soundly. If you exercise late at night, this alone has a negative effect on the quality of your sleep.

8. Slow down aging

Regular exercise significantly reduces the loss of muscle and bone tissue and improves circulation. It also reduces inflammation and prevents the onset of age-related diseases.

9. You set an example for your children

When you take care of yourself - and exercise is a sign that you're doing it - then you're setting a good example for your children. If you are active, your children will be too.

10. Brain productivity and efficiency increases

According to the the study , published in the journal Clinical Neurophysiology, exercising for 20 minutes increases attention and cognitive abilities. This increase in concentration lasts for about an hour.

11. Improving relationships

Strong social ties have significant health benefits (lower blood pressure, fewer colds, lower rates of mental illness, suicide and alcoholism). Recent ones research have shown that people who exercise socially are more attractive and friendly.
