Being a good listener ranks as one of the most important character traits a person can have. We all feel much better when we can confide our worries, as well as our enthusiasm, to someone who really hears us and who lets us know that he is interested in what we have to say. That is why we have prepared 5 steps for you to become a better listener.

1. Pay attention and stay focused

When we think of the person he is believed to be a good listener, we imagine someone who gives us a message during a conversation full attention. This means that while we are explaining something to him, he doesn't look at the clock, telephone or leave your thoughts, yes they float away far away.
If you want to create such an impression, we suggest that the interlocutor looking into your eyes and that you don't give your attention to less important things external factors and you don't start during the conversation to comment on passers-by, weather, you switch topics

2. Use positive body language

Ours body language often communicates more than words. Therefore, during the conversation, be careful that they are yours positive gestures and open: it means to turn against the interlocutor inclined, occasionally you nod and yes don't look around.
Also, make sure your body language according to the information, which you receive via conversation: no way smile, roll your eyes etc., if the interlocutor is explaining to you about his painful experience.

3. Avoid talking about yourself

Yes, sometimes we are reassured by the thought that in a certain situation we are not the only ones and that he is also our interlocutor already experienced something similar and you can tell us through your experience it helps.
However, be aware that about myself you will not speak constant or even before your friend could even trusted, what happened to him. In this way, you will create the impression that what he has to say is of interest to you not interested.

4. Ask questions

The best way to show your interest is to by asking questions. For example, if someone explains to you about trip, which he can't wait for, don't just stay at nodding and repetitionthat you are happy for him. Instead, she ask, what do the happiest, how come you are chose a certain destination, or has ever been visited etc.
In this way, you will let the person know that his share the excitement, and the conversation will be much more interesting.

5. Remember what the interlocutor tells you

If you give the interlocutor the impression that you are what he told you last, already forgotten, he will certainly not consider you a good listener. Yes, it is possible for anyone to forget something, but you will if you show that you are the main part of the conversation forgot, unconsciously let the person know that it is you do not respect and appreciate.
We suggest that the person who after some time you see again, you ask about something that you have she said last. That's for sure made me happy, and you will also create a sense of connection.
