Air pollution appears more and more often on the agenda of TV reports, round tables and, after all, also in our conversations. It is a serious problem that especially large cities face, and the Dutch artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde, who started the "Smog Free" project in 2014, is also aware of this. His first product, the Smog Free Tower, with which he installed the world's first air purifiers of this kind in Amsterdam in 2015, now has a sequel: a bicycle with a purifier.
He came up with the idea together with the artist Matt Hop and professors to Yang with of Tsinghua University gave birth right at an educational workshop on the topic pollution in Beijing. Air purification system it is on both the wheel and the tower the same. During driving, the bike will absorb polluted air, purify it and send it back into the environment. With this project, which is starting its journey in Beijing and Tianjin, people would namely sencouraged to riding a bike, that's in itself reduces CO emissions2 into the atmosphere. But if the wheels clean the air while driving, that's even more better.
The air here is so dirty for now we don't have it yet, but there is nothing wrong with slow cars we withdraw from cities
and we prefer to transport them by bicycle.
