An excellent accessory for a healthy lifestyle

Last updated:

Advantage of the watch Huawei Watch GT 4 is that the HUAWEI TruSeen™ 5.5+ System records your heart rate, SpO2, sleep and stress with extreme accuracy, allowing you to be informed at all times. Special attention is paid to women's health, as with this watch you can easily check the predicted times of menstruation, ovulation and fertility periods, which are based on high-level physiological data and a deep learning algorithm. The watch also takes care of limiting or controlling your stress and offers you breathing exercises to calm down and relax.

With people's health and movement in mind every Wednesday at Huawei Slovenia Instagram profile you find video content, with the help of which you can easily strengthen your body or just wake it up a little during work. Our bodies need movement, and in this fast pace we often simply forget about it. When was the last time you did a back stretch, got into a proper sitting position, did some back or pelvic rotation while sitting in the office? When did you in the morning good stretch?

Laura Matijašič is a person who trains with you and encourages you to take at least a few minutes for yourself and your body. Get to know her.

Laura, where and how did your story begin?

The story started more than 10 years ago (which I can't believe!).

Basically, I've always liked to motivate people around me, but at the same time, I attended all possible guided exercises throughout my high school years and enjoyed them immensely - they were a mandatory routine for me.
On the days when I wasn't in training, I trained alone and soon I started getting encouragement from the girls around me to start something of my own.

Shortly after renting the first hall, I felt that this was something that fulfilled me and a story that would last - but I did not imagine that it would become what it is today - a brand and a company.

Personally, exercise has always helped me through difficult times and filled me with confidence, so I wanted to pass this passion on. And to present exercise to individuals in such a way that they fall in love with movement and make it one of their priorities. Bootyboom connects women and encourages them to find the strength within themselves.

Have you always been "involved" in sports?

You could say that, yes. (laughs) I come from an active family - we used to go to the mountains from a young age and exercise was a natural part of everyday life. Otherwise, my favorite sport was basketball, which I practiced throughout elementary school.
After elementary school, I changed my environment, and when I was looking for a way of moving that would suit me, I started with guided exercises - at that time at the Faculty of Sports. I remember this crazy energy and great trainers whom I admired and who (I can say) were the key to my falling in love with this sport.
Then I had a boyfriend at university, a personal trainer, who only made me even more enthusiastic about this course, and soon I decided to get a trainer's license as well. And what Laura decides, Laura does.

What tipped the scales in the direction of sport instead of classic work?

In fact, it all happened quite spontaneously. For as long as I can remember, being able to find myself has motivated me the most. Because it is always a special challenge, and challenges keep the spark in me.
As a student, I worked in various fields, mostly in various promotions. And even then, I put the most emphasis on the connections and opportunities that opened up for me when I met new people. I was interested in how we could connect and collaborate - both with fitness owners and others from the sports field. In a way, I would say that this networking and later building a community of girls is what paved the way for me to become a solopreneur.

What is your favorite exercise?

Definitely a squat – in every way.

Individuals train in a group at your training, but how do you train?

I combine. 2-3 times a week I lead the training frontally (which means that we do all the exercises together) and then I train the entire training myself with the girls. Then I do strength training in the gym by myself 1-2 times a week. I try to run at least once a week or go for a brisk walk on Šmarna gora - because I love the feeling of good endurance. When the weather is nice, I often replace strength training with running in nature.

What defines you?

Perseverance and dedication to work.

Who is Laura?

A sporty mermaid with a strong desire to grow and progress. Passionate when it comes to motivating and advising on a healthy lifestyle. Eternal optimist and advocate of a balanced lifestyle - "balance is key". With a protein shake in one hand and a glass of Malvasia in the other. (laughs) I am sociable, but at the same time I like to be alone. By the sea. With headphones and sneakers on my feet.

What do you pay most attention to during exercise?

Mainly on posture (shoulder area, pelvis...) and trunk activation.
And the mental connection of the muscle with the brain. But you know what they say ¨think of the muscle¨ - well, this, in my opinion, is the key to good progress.

What mistake do people most often make when exercising and which one would you, as a personal trainer, point out?

One of the most common mistakes could be a closed posture and its negative impact on the performance of the exercises. Due to phones and a sedentary lifestyle, almost all of us already face the problem of "rotated" shoulders forward and the head is moved too far in front of the body.
It is very important to pay attention to yourself and check your posture all the time during exercise, because this way the activation of the muscles is much more optimal, while at the same time reducing the possibility of injuries.

How would you describe your approach to motivating clients to achieve their fitness goals?

Above all, I try to find their motivational factor with each client, which goes beyond just aesthetic goals, but at the same time fills them with drive. For example, strength, joint health, better hormonal balance, improved well-being, greater self-confidence, skin tone... I can go on and on. I want my clients to fall in love with an active and balanced lifestyle and find a way to maintain the results achieved in the long term. Aesthetics are relative, but we definitely see ourselves in a better light when we make an effort to achieve our goals and are disciplined.

You train with a Huawei watch - what excites you most about it?

Above all, its ease of use and a really large selection of sports activities among the programs. In this way, I can optimally monitor my body's responses during exercise and monitor progress.
The Huawei Watch GT 4 seems to me to be excellent from the point of view of motivation as well. I collect colored orbs (representing daily goals I've set for myself) and they often push me out of my comfort zone.
I also really like the breathing exercise option it offers because I often have a challenge with calming down on very active days.

How do you assess the impact of technology, such as Huawei GT 4, to support a healthy lifestyle?

I think it's a great tool from that point of view. Small daily changes lead to big results. And in my opinion, the options on the watch that support healthy habits are just the right incentive and motivation to slowly move towards the goals we have set for ourselves. Maybe just drink a few more fluids a day or walk more steps. It seems like a small thing on a daily basis, but repeated activities in the right direction undoubtedly lead to positive results.

You also pay attention to inner peace. Why? Are we used to coaches focusing on strength and endurance?

With each passing year, I realize more and more that the mind and body are strongly connected. And that nothing is forced. I think it is very important to accept ourselves exactly as we are already at the point before we get on the path of a certain transformation.
Being happy and at peace with yourself gives you strength, and in my opinion, the body also responds much better if we are kind to it. And of course, if we give it time to regenerate, we have a regular sleep rhythm and pay attention to proper breathing.

What does Laura do when she's not training?

She often escapes to the Croatian coast without saying a word, or hangs out with her close friends over good food. When it's time to disconnect from all possible communication, he solves sudoku in his quiet corner or rests with his cat (who always escapes from her).
