There is nothing better than ending the week in style, with friends, good food and a great movie. It's true, good old movie nights never go out of style, so we've put together a list of the best movies that are perfect companions for women's get-togethers.
When we think of women's films, all too often we think of the genre that was dominated by American film production at the turn of the new millennium. These films are full of clichés, cheap film stories, and over the years have become real classics of modern film culture. This does not mean, however, that we have to accompany the women's movie night with one of these stereotypical films, with a happy ending when the main character lands in the arms of a beloved man. Far from it.

The film, nominated for as many as five Oscars in 2018, is an excellent example of this dramedy, as it moves us and makes us laugh at the same time. Actress Greta Gerwig's solo directorial debut has received rave reviews and is set in Sacramento, California. The story is set in the beginning of the 21st century and follows young Christine, who is in an unusual period of life, just on the transition to adulthood.
Always be my Maybe
A film that can momentarily remind you of a classic romantic comedy, but at the same time impresses with an interesting twist. Starring Ali Wong as a successful chef and Randall Park as a musician. In their teenage years, they were inseparable friends, but due to a wrong move, they had no contact for more than 15 years. By a happy coincidence, Sasha opens a new restaurant in her hometown, which could rekindle an old romance, but what happens when none other than Keanu Reeves shows up.
Someone Great
Another Netflix hit. Journalist Jenny is faced with the difficult decision of whether to accept a tempting job offer in San Francisco or continue her nine-year relationship with Nate. He chooses to move, and at her request, he wants to spend one last unforgettable night in New York. In the company of best friends, of course.
Thelma & Louise
A movie classic, with the unforgettable Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon. In Ridley Scott's epic adventure, we follow two friends who try to escape the hands of justice and their own past. Despite accusations that the film paints men in a negative light, the 1991 film became a true hit that is still relevant thirty years later.
Steel magnolias
Get your tissues ready, you'll need them a lot with a great movie with an out-of-the-ordinary star cast. In addition to tears, there will also be laughter. Do you know any stories? The film shows a group of women in the American South who slalom together between love, losses and life in general.
Ocean's 8
In the manner of the cult films of Danny Ocean's company, a hit was created with a female version, commanded by Danny's sister. The cast is anything but unknown - Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafine, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson and Rihanna. The girls set out to steal a $150 million necklace.
Hustlers
And speaking of the resourceful group of women, the film Hustlers starring Jennifer Lopez is not to be missed. The film is about a group of strippers who begin to swindle their customers out of money. It is based on a true story from an article published in New York magazine.
