Of course, the word "off-road" should be taken with a grain of salt, as it would not be wise to go with it in difficult off-road conditions, but that's why it is all the more at home on forest tracks, snowy roads - in short, everywhere where four-wheel drive comes in handy . For example, we went with him even to the Hotel Erika in Kranjskogo, when winter conditions prevailed on the Vršeška road. The snow had been partially plowed, but with a normal passenger car we would soon have stopped. Here the advantages of the 4×4 drive, which has its roots in Nissan, were shown, and its operation can be controlled with a selector knob, with three positions available: 2WD, AUTO and 4WD Lock. The latter is active up to a speed of 50 km/h. Off-roadness emphasizes both the external appearance with protective plates and the following information in the prospectus: the entry angle is 27 degrees, the transition angle is 21, the exit angle is 31, and the water transport depth is 45 cm. In any case, the Koleos is also at home on the highway and in the city.

The urban pulse of the car

Urban use of the Koleos is pleasant due to its favorable external dimensions, parking is easy, especially if parking sensors are installed. Due to the higher distance from the ground, we do not have to fear that we will accidentally rub the bottom of the car when parking on the curb or when driving over a speed bump. Thanks to the 4×4 drive, we can also escape from the embrace of the snow, if we happen to be pelted with it by the virtuous workers of the winter service. Fuel consumption is also comparable to a car.

Parent friendly

As befits a car of this size, the rear bench is of course equipped with two ISOFIX anchor points. Folding tables on the backs of the front seats are also practical. The spacious trunk makes traveling with small children pleasant, especially if we carry a lot of "baby equipment". It will easily fit a larger stroller - such as the Bugaboo Cameleon - although there will be slightly less space for other stuff. As an interesting (and useful) detail, there is also a special folding ceiling mirror, which can be used to monitor what is happening in the rear seats.

We noticed

The Koleos spoiled us with an excellent Bose sound system and a 6-CD changer, numerous storage compartments for large and small small items - we must praise the cool compartment in front of the passenger and the spacious illuminated compartment between the front seats, where they installed an additional 12V socket and a basket - and comfortable seating. . We also found the two-part tailgate practical, with the upper part opening upwards and the lower opening downwards. You could also sit on the latter without any problems, as its load capacity is an exemplary 200 kg. The Koleos would also arouse interest among Americans, as we could open the fuel tank cap door right from the cabin with a special lever, and the fuel filling system itself is modeled after Formula 1 - without a special cap. The test Koleos was also equipped with a comfort unlocking system, which comes in handy when we have our hands full and looking for the key - sorry card - would be a very awkward task. What didn't impress us so much was the position of the cruise control / speed limiter switch on the center console, as well as the feeling of cheapness in some elements in the interior - for example, the cigarette lighter.
