Many people have trouble getting motivated to exercise. They feel much better lying in front of the TV and eating fast food. If you find yourself in this description, we offer you a solution.
Researchers at Texas Tech University have found that listening to relaxing music helps to raise the tolerance limit, which enables intense exercise. Thus, they scientifically supported the thesis, which is already defended by a large number of athletes.
For the purposes of the research, they carried out heart rate variability test. The results showed that people who listened to music during the experiment were able to perform longer intense training than those who did not.
They were included in the study 127 people. The first group of randomly selected participants listened to Latin music, while the second performed the experiment in silence. The average practice time of music listeners was 8 minutes and 26 seconds, and the "quiet group" on average withstood the effort 7 minutes and 35 seconds.
Research Manager dr. Waseem Shami, otherwise a cardiologist, believes that the findings could contribute to greater motivation for exercise, which is crucial for health. From now on, people will keep in mind that listening to music during training for greater motivation is not just a myth, but a scientifically supported fact.
