Fincantieri Mirage 106 M: a luxury yacht that becomes invisible

Fincantieri Mirage 106 M

The idea for the 'invisible' yacht originated in the mind of Pieter van Geest, who envisioned a yacht that blends into the ocean and the horizon. The illusion will be recreated using special mirror glass, which will show the reflection of the sea surface to the surrounding observers.

106 meters long superyacht Fincantieri Mirage 106 M will be covered with mirrored glass. There is quite a story about glasses mysterious and about them more than that the manufacturer comes from Germany and that they never used before for building a yacht, he doesn't even know. Mirror glasses will create an illusion, with which the yacht will be 'disappeared' in the sea if we observe it from a distance of more than 50 meters. Passengers on board will have a similar feeling, as the reflection will give them the illusion that they float in the air.

The Mirage yacht was developed in collaboration between an Italian shipyard Fincantieri and Dutch companies Van Geest Design. They needed to make plans a good year, and they will need more to build the yacht three and a half years. Initial estimates indicate that the cost of building the superyacht will be around 200 million British pounds. He has a yacht at his disposal 6 decks, helipad, SPA, outdoor cinema and theater hall. 4200 tons a heavy yacht has enough space available for 43 people, of which it is 14 guests and 29 crew members. All this luxury can be enjoyed casually at 19 knots.
