H&M Move goes outdoors: new running and hiking collection combines functionality and summer style

Lightweight materials and temperature regulating technologies.

Summer has its own special logic. The days are longer, the calendar is a bit more relaxed, and sports activities move from air-conditioned spaces to places where the signal is weaker and the view is noticeably better. That's why H&M Move presents a new summer collection for running and hiking, designed for women who want to stay active even when the asphalt turns into a forest path and the city park into a mountain scenery.

The new collection combines lightweight, cooling layers, form-fitting, supportive cuts, and versatile pieces designed for early morning runs, long hikes, and fast-changing weather conditions. It also stays true to the aesthetic that has long made activewear more than just for sports. Because let’s face it: if we’re going to climb a hill, we might as well do it in a good silhouette.

Clothing that adapts to the pace and weather

The starting point for the collection was a simple question: how to create clothes in which we can carefreely explore the mountains, enjoy the view, and feel comfortable while doing so?

“Temperature changes, rugged terrain and long days outdoors mean that every detail had to have a purpose. We created pieces that help keep you cool, move with your body and adapt to changing conditions. The versatile cuts mean they can be layered and styled in different ways throughout the day,” explains Marie Fredros, Design Manager at H&M Move.

The collection thus responds to one of the biggest challenges of summer outdoor activities: the morning can start with a fresh breeze, continue with the midday heat and end with an unexpected shower. The mountains don't have a dial to set the ideal temperature.

CoolMove™, SculptMove™ and DryMove™ for active summer days

A key element of the collection is CoolMove™ technology, used in tank tops and long-sleeved styles. It is designed to help regulate body temperature during intense exercise, when the pleasant summer heat suddenly becomes a little less pleasant.

Sports support tops and cycling shorts with SculptMove™ technology create a tight, second-skin feel and provide support to the body during runs, walks and climbs.

DryMove™ technology is featured in lightweight woven shorts with built-in, tight-fitting legs and long pants that can be adjusted at the ankles. This way, a wide silhouette transforms into a rounded balloon-leg cut in a matter of moments. Practical for the terrain, thoughtful enough for a stop on the terrace of a mountain hut.

Colors inspired by the mountain landscape

The color palette follows nature and calm summer minimalism. Mountain green, dark mottled gray, smoky shades, ivory and soft dusty purple allow for easy combination and layering of different pieces.

The result is a collection that doesn't try to compete with its surroundings, but rather elegantly blends in. After all, a sunset on a mountaintop is dramatic enough - the clothes don't need to steal the spotlight.

From the starting point of the trail to the summit

The overall look is completed with accessories tailored for short trips and all-day adventures, including a mini crossbody bag, a lightweight hiking backpack, and a scarf and hat with UV protection.

The pieces are designed to accompany the wearer from the beginning of the journey to the top and beyond – for coffee, lunch or a spontaneous stop in the city. The line between sportswear and everyday wear has long been blurred, and the new H&M Move collection crosses it with even more confidence.

Summer in motion

The new H&M Move summer collection appeals to everyone who sees movement not just as a workout, but as part of an experience. Running along a forest path, hiking with friends or exploring new mountain views becomes an opportunity for disconnection, adventure and – without unnecessary modesty – a good sporty look.

H&M Move collection for summer running and hiking is already available in selected H&M stores worldwide and on the hm.com website.
