A light installation created by an energetic battle on wheels

The Dutch creative trio Venividimultiplex has created a highly entertaining interactive installation, where passers-by ignite countless light patterns through a bicycle clash.

As part of the light festival in Amsterdam, the masters of interactive installations, Joost Van Bergen, Dirk Schlebusch and Onne Walsmit, served up this Lightbattle. In the underpass of the familiar Rijksmuseum they installed an arch with almost 5,000 colorful LED tubes and spread it elegantly over a line of 10 bikes.

Passers-by can thus compete in two teams of five to push the bikes, using the pedals to turn on the blue and red lights on the arch and draw a lively waterfall of light from one side to the other. The unique party, sponsored by InventDesign and DHL Express, is available for free every day until January 19.
