The sharp, geometric angles of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider deliberately abandon the rounded lines of its predecessor, the SF90, and draw inspiration from the brand's sports prototypes from the 1970s. This plug-in hybrid convertible replaces the SF90 Spider as Ferrari's flagship open-top model, while maintaining the same performance. The powertrain combines a four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors - two on the front axle for torque vectoring and all-wheel drive, and a third developed directly from the Formula 1 program.
The total system output is 1,036 horsepower, which allows acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.3 seconds. Despite its racing passport, this is a car for those who want to drive with the roof open every day. The hard-folding roof opens or closes in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour. Ferrari expects the Spider version to surpass the sales of its related coupe version, with which it shares about 90 percent of the bodywork. This only confirms the thesis that the remaining 10 percent can change everything.
