The designers bet on exceptional aerodynamics, which is important in electric vehicles, and achieved an incredible coefficient of air resistance, which amounts to only 0.20 cw and thus represents a record among all production vehicles. It won't be far behind Tesla when it comes to acceleration numbers either. Thus, the EQS 580 4MATIC model will be able to go somewhere 516 horsepower and what 823 Nm of torque. This will allow this large German sedan to accelerate up to 100 km/h in only 4 seconds. Of course, you will quickly empty it when you start it. But nothing for that! You will fill it up very quickly. So in 35 minutes from 10 to 80 percent with a 110-kW DC charger.
A look into the future
EQS in fact, it replaces in the future class S with a classic combustion engine and heralds a new design style for vehicles of the coming era. Thus, it represents a big departure from others of EQ products and bets on the uniqueness of the design style we can see in the future. The large German sedan is built around its own all-electric architecture, without the limitations of a traditional front-mounted engine.
It must be admitted that he is extremely consistent and already looking to the future today. An interesting design addition is the option of a two-tone body, which will emphasize the design dynamism of the vehicle, which is strongly expressed in the shorter engine cover and the uniform arc of the car, which strongly resembles a coupe shape. The whole car, however, looks conservative in a way - futuristic and appealing to typical Mercedes-Benz buyers. Of course, also to those from the Far East, where the largest number of limousines of this type will be sold.
And the price. Mercedes Benz will offer its vision of the future at prices comparable to its direct competition – the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S Plaid. Thus, prices start at 120,000 euros and end where the limits of our imagination are. So high.
