The new Casio G'z Eye action camera: rugged yet attractive

Casio, which is known for its exceptional wristwatches, is embarking on a new path. Or the market, if you will. With the new G'z Eye camera, they obviously want to try their hand at photography as well, and if they succeeded with watches, why not here. The camera seems very robust at first glance, but let's take a closer look.

Casio G'z Eye is actually an action camera, which may remind connoisseurs of the G-Shock watch line of the same manufacturer to one of the watches.

GZE-1 is full HD-a camera that, due to the robustness of the housing, will be most useful to extreme athletes. It is resistant to vibrates or shots (tested from four meters), dust (IP6X) and water (up to 50 meters deep). You will be able to use it even in winter temperatures there to 10 degrees Celsius below zero.

The ultra-wide lens captures videos in a 170.4-degree angle and photos in a 190.8-degree angle. It also enables time-lapse, slow motion and continuous recording with at a speed of 30 frames per second. Captures photos with quality 6 megapixels. You will be able to control the GZE-1 with the buttons on the case, from the Pro Trek WSD-F20 watch or smartphone via Bluetooth connection. The sound of blowing wind will be practically inaudible, as it has a built-in stereo microphone wind-noise reduction. The battery should last a good hour and a half when recording in full resolution.

For now, the price is unknown, and the GZE-1 will initially be available only in the Japanese market. Let's hope he visits us too.
