Opel Astra TRC racing car

The Opel Astra TCR is Opel's new machine for racetracks, more specifically, for the TCR (Touring Car Racing) international championship series. The racer for short and endurance races like the 24 Hours of Nürburgring is the most expensive version of the new Astra, but you won't be able to park it in your home garage, although (mainly due to costs) the Germans have tried to make it deviate as little as possible from the production version. But the additions for aerodynamics, engine and so on are still too "excessive" for ordinary roads.

Opel Astra TCR it's a true race track machine. Heart 1200 kilograms it is a heavy racing beast 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine with 330 horses (243 kW, 420 Nm of maximum torque), which transmits power and torque to the front wheels via 6-speed sequential gearbox with shift paddles on the steering wheel, while the automatic double-opening clutch system (equipped with two sintered discs for better grip) ensures stability from "jumping" down.

The Astro TCR was developed by Opel with its long-time partner Kissling Motorsport.

The racing car is braked by 378 mm discs and calipers with six brake pistons at the front, and 265 mm brake discs with two pistons in the calipers at the rear, braking force, that is the ratio of operating power between the rear and front brakes, and the driver can control it from behind the wheel. The chassis is adjustable, and all this adjustability works for the Astro TCR "unisex" racing car and as such an ideal choice for racing teams competing in the racing series touring cars (Touring Car Racing).
