Recipe: simple Day and Night cake

On cold days, nothing pleases us more than chatting with a friend over coffee and a snack in the shelter of a warm home. That is why we have prepared a quick and easy recipe for a delicious Day and Night cake, named after the unique combination of light and dark layers.

Cake recipe Day and night it is suitable both for beginners and for those who like to spend their days baking a wide variety of sweets. It won't take much preparation a lot of time, and with it you will undoubtedly impress your visitors.

Ingridients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 25 dag of flour
  • 15 dag of powdered sugar
  • 10 dag of butter
  • 10 dag ground walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons of rum
  • half of baking powder
  • a little butter and breadcrumbs

Preparation:

1. Melt the butter over low heat, then let it cool a little. Prepare a small baking tray, then coat it with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

2. Break the eggs and separate the whites and yolks. Beat the egg whites into a firm mixture, which you then place in the refrigerator. Add the sugar to the yolks and mix for about 3 minutes or until the mixture becomes frothy. Add the melted butter and mix with a mixer.

3. Mix flour and baking powder. Then, take the snow you obtained from the egg whites out of the refrigerator and start adding it to the mixture while constantly stirring. Immediately pour half of the mixture into the mold, level and place in the oven at 180 °C. Meanwhile, add cocoa, rum and walnuts to the other half of the mixture and mix.

4. Bake the first half of the mixture for about 10 minutes or until you notice that a firm crust has formed on top. Then take it out of the oven, cover with the second part of the mixture and bake at the same temperature for about 12 more minutes. Bon Appetit!
