Ingredients for homemade baklava with strawberries:
- 1 kg of strawberries
- 500 g of thin puff pastry (12 equal pieces)
- 3 eggs
- 0.5 dl of oil
- 2 dl yogurt
- 5 spoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla sugar
- 24 tablespoons of semolina
Syrup
- 600 g of sugar
- 6 dl of water
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- half a lemon
Preparation of homemade baklava with strawberries:
Clean the strawberries and cut them into small pieces. For the filling, beat the eggs, yogurt, sugar and vanilla sugar. Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces, from which you will roll strudels. Spread the first piece of dough with 5 to 6 tablespoons of filling, sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of semolina. Cover with another piece of dough and spread the strawberries over it and sprinkle again with 2 tablespoons of semolina. Repeat the process until you use up all the dough. Grease the baking pan. Cut the strudels in the desired way and cover with a few spoonfuls of the filling. Bake for about 25 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
For the syrup, boil the water and sugar and let it boil for a few minutes. Add chopped lemon and vanilla sugar. Set aside the pan and allow the syrup to thicken and cool. Pour the warm syrup over the baked and lukewarm baklava. Adjust the amount of syrup to your desired taste. Have a good run!
