Recipe: salad with roasted red onion and hazelnuts

Onions are an indispensable ingredient in many dishes. Although it is often not seen in the dish, we immediately notice that something is missing if the dish is prepared without it. Red onion is the queen of this salad plate because of its red-purple color and milder, fuller flavor. Salad with roasted red onion

Ingredients

2 red onions
3 spoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
1 bunch of dill
3 tablespoons of olive oil
1 tablespoon of whole grain mustard
1 apple
Salt and pepper

Directions

1.Cut the onion in half, sprinkle it with coarse salt and bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 200°C. Then separate the onion layers and place them in a bowl.
2. Heat the sugar with a spoonful of water in a saucepan until it reaches a caramel consistency. Remove from the heat and add the chopped hazelnuts, mix well and cool.
3. Mix the mustard, vinegar and oil in a bowl and add the diced apple.
4. Pour the vinaigrette vinegar over the onion. Before serving, add caramelized hazelnuts, dill and coarse salt.
