SafeBeach: will we be in Plexiglas "boxes" on the beaches this year?

The goal of the SafeBeach project is to enable people to visit the beach while staying safe.

Summer is approaching, and some countries that practically live off summer tourism are also those that have been most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic (Italy, Spain). Italian interior designer Umberto Menasci thus proposed a solution with a name SafeBeach. The goal of the SafeBeach project is to enable people to visit the beach while staying safe.

At a time when the strict measures related to the new coronavirus pandemic are slowly being relaxed in some cities, Umberto Menasci visualized a "new normal". The idea thus focuses on a series of outdoor "rooms" reminiscent of a hotel by the beach. Each "box" should be manufactured made of plexiglass or lexan, and there are said to be two deckchairs and a large umbrella in it.

Generous spacing is provided between all boxes, access to the sea would be provided alternately. By respecting social distancing rules that still allow the summer tradition of going to the beach, SafeBeach is a safe way to enjoy the warmer weather and the sea.
