Slovenian book bloggers you should follow if you love books

There are more than 20 book blogs operating in Slovenia, and all of them strive to bring the book closer to readers and ignite a spark of interest in those who have not read before. Because they also want to appeal to young people, book bloggers use new online platforms such as YouTube and Instagram, as they make it easier to establish contact and influence people's reading habits. In the world of "influencers", who are mainly represented in the beauty and fashion industry, it would be high time that book bloggers, who enrich the mind and spirit with their work, also deserve their place among them.

Who are Slovenian book bloggers, which you must follow if you love books?

I'm reading

On the blog you will find thoughts, ideas, texts for inspiration and better well-being. There is also a list of video content, vlogs that the creator of the blog, Damjana Bakarič, regularly records. The site offers books that will help you reduce negative stress, relax, lift yourself up and learn to stand up for yourself.

Miss book

The blog has been alive since 2011, when Nina Prešern started writing a book blog, then called Bralnica.si. Today, Nina has a series of vivid impressions of quality literature. In the Berem sebi column, she writes about the books she reads by her own choice, and occasionally also because of the nature of her work (professor of Slovenian), while the Berem sinku column highlights high-quality children's picture books that convince with their content and artistic image.

[INSTA GDČ.] Has a book ever convinced you to change something, a different way of thinking, a new hobby? Last year, Harold Fry's Strange Pilgrimage during summer lounging reminded me of walking, a neglected form of movement between car, bicycle and bus. In this novel, however, I gradually discovered Harold's bitter family past, and the initial impression of the stupidity of a pensioner walking north like that, softened into an understanding of his path. Half a year after reading this book, I can also see more when I walk. It would be an exaggeration to claim that this is the purpose of this novel, but it is not too much if I answer the initial question with YES, reading also makes you think anew and is a mosaic in the changes we are going through. . . #gospodičnaknjiga #instagdč #beremsebi @mladinskaknjiga #mladinskaknjiga #berem #branje #novagospodična #racheljoyce #roman #novel #book #bookstagram #bookish #bookpic #bookshelf #reading #literature #freetime #booklook #readabook #walking #life #family #selfcare

Bookshelf

Behind the blog Knjižna polička is a 19-year-old woman who loves to read (even if someone says that young people only know how to stare at their phones). She decided to feature books on her blog and give her opinion on what is worth reading and what is not. Otherwise, you will not only find books on her blog, but also other interesting content.

Contexts

The Konteksti blog is created by Tomaž Bešter, another book and reading enthusiast, so it is no wonder that he found his job in the Slovenian temple of literature - NUK. On his blog, he regularly publishes contributions with presentations of Slovenian and foreign books, and is also the author of numerous professional contributions from the library profession. In 2017, he received the Čop award (the highest national award for outstanding achievements in the field of librarianship that are of wider social importance) for his active contribution to the development of library activity.

Mojca Širok has written an excellent crime novel about mafia control of business, interfering with journalism, arranging investigations and leaning decisions between life and death. In the first phase, it's about reading about solving the mystery of brutal murders that lead old acquaintances and loves to explore the threads that lead to a shared past. These are skilfully intertwined with the personal stories of the main and slightly less main characters, who are increasingly burdened towards the end by the grayness of the story's mantle, which rests on the fact that contamination with ties to the past is destructive for everyone in one way or another. The reading then comes into the background, dominated by the knowledge of the criminalization of modern society, in which the struggle for any kind of social justice is doomed to failure at the moment when the corrective instance of this justice (the state) is part of the same evil that it should annihilate. A literary pharmacy

On the Literarna lekarna blog, you will find many suggestions and reading tips for you and your children, as well as some information about the importance of this skill and the ability to read. Alenka Štrukelj fell in love with books as a child, which enriched her entire life. This is also the reason why today she herself inspires people, especially children and their parents, to pick up a book and read.

Have you ever thought about your mother away from her role as a mother. What were her dreams and inspirations for life, what are her joys, her fears, her expectations. The novel by a Korean writer Kjung Suk Shin talks about what happens when the mother mysteriously disappears on the Seoul underground station and the search for her does not bring any results. Each family member deals with this loss in his own way, evoking deeply buried memories on her. The disappearance of their mother strengthens the ties between the family members who were alienated because of the demands of everyday life. @zalozba_modrijan #literarnalekarna #bookstagrammer #bookblogger #bookish #bookishcandles #bookcover #novel #mother #reading #greatreads #korean
