Summer is here and with it festivals that will once again fill the streets of Ljubljana with a mixture of culture and entertainment. The 69th Ljubljana Festival, the Ana Desetnica street theater festival, Summer in Old Ljubljana, Film under the Stars and the Young Lions festival are just around the corner.
69. Ljubljana Festival
The Ljubljana Festival takes place throughout the summer from July 1 to September 8 and combines events from various branches of art. So you can relax to the accompaniment of orchestras and choirs, enjoy the passion of dramatic opera and ballet performances and feel the rhythms of musicals. But we must not forget the concerts of famous Slovenian singers as well as the art colony and exhibitions. Among the performers are many well-known names, including Tomaž Domicelj, Vlado Kreslin, Alenka Godec, Ash in the Blood, the Choir of Vienna Boys, Nicola Piovani, Jonas Kaufmann and Arcadi Volodos.
The events take place in the evening, and tickets can already be purchased on the website Festival of Ljubljana and via Eventim. Entrance to the exhibitions of Eva Petrič and Vasja Žbona in Križanke is free.

Festival of street theaters Ana Desetnica
The goal of the Ana Desetnica festival is to fill the public space with artistic content and thus bring culture even to those who do not usually attend such events. It includes theater, dance and circus performances, installations and workshops, and street groups from Slovenia and abroad present themselves on it. Amazing spots always attract the attention of the crowds and it's hard to believe that this year will be any different. Entry is free.

33. International festival Imago Sloveniae and Summer in old Ljubljana
Fans of the classics will also benefit. Within 33rd International Festival Imago Sloveniae and Summer in Old Ljubljana there will be concerts where you can listen to jazz, opera and classical music. Admission is free, and both Slovenian and foreign performers will perform, including the SNG Maribor Symphony Orchestra, 4SYRINX, Camerata Academica Ljubljana Ensemble, Jure Pukl and Duo Vakkordeoline. Entry is free.

A movie under the stars
In the summer, in Ljubljana Castle, in addition to the starry sky and beautiful Ljubljana, you also have a view of the movie screens. You can get tickets at the box office Movie theater, the entrance pavilion at Ljubljana Castle and the bottom station of the funicular, but you can also buy them online ljubljanskigrad.si.

Young Lions Festival
Young lions is a contemporary dance and theater festival that tackles current topics every year by bringing together the ideas of artists, thinkers and audiences. In previous years, it was held at various locations, including the Old Power Station and the Town Hall, but for this year the exact locations and program are not yet known. The list of performers currently includes Lebanese artist Tania El Khuory, double bassist and author Tomaž Grom, performer and choreographer Matija Ferlin, actor Vito Weis and many others. Tickets have a symbolic price of 1 euro.
