The raised sliding bus is here and has already transported the first passengers

Raised TEB mega bus.

Back in May, it seemed like science fiction (it was only a mock-up at the 19th International High-Tech Exhibition in Beijing), but today the elevated sliding megabus of the company Transit Elevated Bus is a reality and has already "driven" to or over the Chinese streets of Qinhuangdao, where it successfully passed its first test run. Let us remind you, it is a huge raised bus that can transport 1200 people, it slides on tracks above a two-lane road, and cars can safely drive underneath it!

China is famous as the land of traffic infarcts. Traffic collapses have become a part of Chinese folklore that they are not proud of, so they are looking for ways to make it possible greater fluidity mountains of sheet metal and reduce pollution air.

May 2016 is a company TEB presented a model that had been simmering as an idea since 2010, elevated gigabus, which looks like a tunnel, under which cars will drive, and it will move on its own on the tracks on the sides two-lane roads.

If at the time this seemed just a wild idea and too good to be true, it was recently seen on Chinese roads, or rather above them prototype at work. Admittedly, he only passed 300 meters route, but that they got from a mock-up to a working vehicle so quickly, that is, in just three months, is absolutely fascinating.

To the bus constructor that has the capacity 40 trains, five Chinese cities offered themselves as guinea pigs to Song Juzhou, namely Qinhuangdao, Nanyang, Shenyang, Tianjin and Zhukou, which, due to the sudden increase in traffic, are burdened by excessive air pollution and indescribable congestion on the roads. Building a vehicle costs money 4.5 million US dollars, which is only one-sixteenth of the price of a subway train, and in addition, it does not require major interventions in the transport infrastructure, since it is powered by electricity and solar energy. The bus that does not disturb the traffic, will come to life in perfection, at least that's what the Chinese engineers promise in a year. If we laughed at them in May, we won't laugh at them now!
