Without much surprise, Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" became the big winner of the 96th Academy Awards, taking home seven golden statuettes. Meanwhile, the movie "Barbie" won only the Oscar for best original song. Oscars 2024 winners: 96th award OSCARS 2024 was a night to remember as the biggest names came together to celebrate the best of the best in cinema. It was this year Christopher Nolan's “Oppenheimer” nominated in an impressive 13 categories, closely followed by Yorgos Lanthimos' “The Fabelmans” with 11 nominations. A Martin Scorsese film "Killers of the Flower Moon" received 10 nominations, while the commercial hit “Barbie” received 8 nominations, but missed out on the best actress and director categories.
Lily Gladstone she went down in history as the first Indian Academy Award nomineebut with this nomination, Scorsese became with 10 nominations the most nominated director in Oscar history, as well as the oldest living director to receive a nomination. As befits, the Oscars 2024 once again served moments of happiness, victory and surprise.
